Librarians have the best jobs in the world!
I'm tempted to use this space to just gush about how fulfilling and important our work is, but you already know! I love every aspect of what we do, but my particular passions are programming and outreach. I love to build community and to make people see the library in a new light.
Fun and play are at the center of education, not just for early learners but for everyone. My programs and outreach focus on reminding adults - who have so often forgotten - how to play. When we play, we learn together because we can't help ourselves, because we're excited and engaged and joyful. Libraries teach us that we can bring the joyful, enriching, eye-opening, tell-everyone-you-know parts of learning with us long after we've left the classroom. Now that's lifelong learning.
