Leadership Core Values
Four core values guide my practice as a leader: authenticity, inclusion, curiosity, and inspiration.
Authenticity
Authenticity means that I believe in bringing my whole self. I embrace vulnerability and learning in public. I strive to create a culture where every person knows that they are respected not only as workers or patrons, but as whole humans with unique skills and experiences. Organizational development research has found authenticity to be a powerful way of building trust, which is the foundation of a thriving, high-performing culture.

Inclusion
As an inclusive leader, I actively invite diverse perspectives and lived experiences. I do this with an equity lens, intentionally sharing power with those who have been systematically denied the opportunity to participate. It is not enough just to invite people to the table – I want us to build the table together. My style is human-centered, based in listening, empathy, and collaboration.

Curiosity
Curiosity is closely tied to inclusion. I am genuinely interested in all people’s experiences, perspectives, and ideas. In practice, this means I ask great questions and listen deeply to the answers to understand the true root of a problem or opportunity. I love to learn, and I believe that encouraging a culture of learning leads to engagement and sustainable innovation.

Inspiration
I dream big, and I invite others to share that vision with me. When leading long-term change, I invest the time up front to make sure people understand where we are going and why. I strive to inspire as many as possible to share my passion for the destination. When there are inevitable bumps along the journey, inspired people will work with creativity and resilience to find a way forward together. As author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote, "If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.”
